Dilly Ranch Snack Mix

Dilly Ranch Snack Mix

Makes about 6 cups

This easy snack mix hits all the right notes: crunchy, savory, and herby and will keep you reaching back into the bowl for more. The seasoning—full of dill with the familiar tang of ranch—goes on in stages to ensure everything is evenly coated. A low oven gently toasts the nuts and wakes up the spices, making this an ideal make-ahead snack for game days, road trips, or holiday grazing boards. It keeps well at room temperature and travels beautifully.

1 1/2 cups pecan pieces or halves

1 1/2 cups small pretzels

1 1/2 cups oyster crackers

1 1/2 cups white cheddar popcorn

3 tablespoons canola oil

2 teaspoons onion powder

1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder

1 1/2 teaspoons dried dill

1 1/2 teaspoons dried parsley

1/2 teaspoon dried basil

1/2 teaspoon mustard powder

2 teaspoons Diamond Crystal kosher salt 

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  1. Preheat the oven to 275°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the pecans, pretzels, oyster crackers, popcorn, and oil. Toss gently until everything is lightly coated.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the onion powder, garlic powder, dill, parsley, basil, mustard powder, salt, and black pepper until no lumps remain.
  4. Sprinkle about one-third of the seasoning mixture over the snack mix and toss gently to combine. Repeat twice more, adding the seasoning in stages and tossing gently each time for even coverage.
  5. Spread the snack mix in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake until lightly golden and fragrant, 15-18 minutes, stirring once halfway through.
  7. Let cool completely before storing in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
