In the South, it is prime season for post-hunting picnics, tailgating, and Fall cocktail parties.  One of our favorite appetizers to bring along is the Tomato Pecan Cheese Log from our Schermer family cookbook.  Creamy cheeses mixed with herbs, garlic and tomatoes and then rolled in fresh chopped pecans (or you can roast them for an even nuttier flavor) make a quick and easy appetizer.
